Making a Difference One Child at a Time

OUR CAUSE:

FIGHTING CHILDHOOD POVERTY

Imagine how a family must feel fighting to survive on just $2 each day.

$14 each week. $60 each month.

Imagine Her Life

Around the world, 1 out of every 6 children barely survive on that amount. They hunger for food. They can't go to school. They can't afford a doctor. Too often, they are forced into child labor or even abandoned.

Fortunately, you can make a difference!

Providing life-saving essentials to children living in the world's hardest places is not easy. It is a full team effort and everyone has an important role. Including - and especially - you.

THERE IS HOPE

Together we can rewrite the story of a child's life

It is easy to look at child poverty in the world and feel hopeless. But child poverty isn’t an impossible problem.

Your support makes a real, tangible difference in the life of a child.

BECAUSE OF YOU, CHILDREN CAN ENVISION A BETTER LIFE.

Your support helps kids experience life in all its fullness (John 10:10)

Child poverty matters.

Child poverty tears children down through lack of food, clothing, medical care, education, and work opportunities. It marginalizes and traumatizes children.

Moving children and families out of poverty changes everything.

Here's why:

HELPING GIRLS THRIVE

Women and girls are affected by poverty the most. They spend hours collecting water, gathering firewood, and caring for the sick.

When women and girls rise above poverty they get their lives back. They start businesses, improve their homes, and take charge of their own futures.

EDUCATING KIDS

Kids can go to school and stay in school when they rise above poverty.

Less time begging for food or participating in child labor means more time in class. Money for school fees, uniforms, and school supplies ensures that more children have access to education.

HEALTHY LIVES

More people die from malnutrition and diseases than from war.

43% of those deaths are children under five years old. Access to clean water and basic sanitation can save around 16,000 lives every week.

With your support, this is how we tackle the poverty crisis

Our supporters invest in the lives of children and youth. They help them have healthy, educated, and empowered lives to break free from poverty.

Education

Refugee Students | Global Action InternationalYour support helps children get a quality education.

Education protects vulnerable children and youth from forced recruitment into armed groups, child labour, sexual exploitation and child marriage. Education also strengthens community resilience.

Education empowers by giving children the knowledge and skills to live productive, fulfilling and independent lives.

Education enlightens orphans and refugees, enabling them to learn about themselves and the world around them while striving to rebuild their lives and communities.

Access to health care protects all of our children and youth and ensures they are able to obtain health care where it’s not otherwise affordable or available.

Medical services save lives by providing direct primary care, referrals and payment for outside services, health care education, and emergency financial support.

Nutrition and feeding programs promote healthy lives by supporting undernourished children and ensure that orphans under our care receive a daily, balanced diet.

Making an impact through local partners

Why do we work with local partners?

We believe that working with local churches, orphanages, and ministries is the best way to create long-term impact. Our local partners have years of experience caring for children. They know their communities better than anyone. They are the best experts to provide long-term support.

How are local partners defined?

We work with a variety of locally-based organizations. Some are locally-founded orphanages and churches. Others are Christian ministries. Others are hospitals and medical clinics. In every case, local experts are designing, implementing, and monitoring the work.

Promised Land Ministries Guatemala

Promised Land Ministries is a Christian organization working around Lake Atitlan, Guatemala, an area with a 74% poverty rate. We work with local churches and short term mission teams promoting education, health, and nutrition. Together, we work to provide an opportunity to break the cycle of poverty. Our programs, feeding, school sponsorship, Promised Land School and the Medical Clinic are the pillars to change lives all rooted in the life and principles of Jesus Christ. Mi Casa Project is a program to prevent illnesses starting at home through home improvements. We host short term mission teams and are open to receive more.
