“I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.” - John 8:12
In Europe, many of the hotels have motion detectors which saves on electricity and money. When you first step out of an elevator you cannot tell which way to go to your room because it is dark. However, when you take two steps a motion detector knows you are there and the lights go on. As you walk down the hall it is dark until you reach the motion detectors and it lights the way for you as you walk. This is true of the rooms you go into and places of business.
I thought this is how it is with the Lord...the light of life. Many times we are in darkness about our lives, family, finances, business, church, etc. It seems we are in darkness and there is no way out. The Lord shared with me that it may seem to be black… it may be dark... but just begin to walk and the light will come on. The light will shine upon us as to what needs to be done... who to council with...new ideas will come to our mind... obstacles that seem overwhelming in the darkness of the moment will fade away in the light of His glory and grace.
Don't just sit there and murmur and complain. Begin to walk and the light will begin to shine and the dawn of a new day will appear.
Once, in Turkey, my wife and I saw a great solar eclipse. What a glorious sight. The sun was shining so bright one minute and then the moon came in front of it and there was total darkness. BUT THEN... the sun began to shine again...the darkness was over. In your life you may be going through the darkness of an eclipse...but the sun is still there...the light will shine again. JUST KEEP WALKING.
"For you were sometimes darkness, but now you are light in the Lord: LIVE AS CHILDREN OF LIGHT." - Ephesians 5:8
May the Lord richly bless you and yours,
