Responsibility is the mark of a good leader. They don't need to be told when they're wrong. More often than not, they'll tell you.
They manifest in their own lives the personal openness and honesty they
expect from their associates.
"The price of greatness is responsibility." Winston Churchill |
Leaders can't afford to be defensive about personal failure. Too many other things are at stake to worry about saving face. The team member who spends
a great amount of time reflecting on the last play is one who probably won't
have the courage to execute the next one.
Leaders take responsibility for their actions.
They are willing to make the personal sacrifice for the overall welfare of the organization.
"I was wrong." "I am sorry."
The sentences are small, but they are highly significant. They will make a far greater impact than a long speech about morale and team effort.
I believe leaders are peacemakers and "Blessed are the peacemakers."
May this be a great day for you and yours.
